Enable 480p Videos in Hulu

Ok, so you’ve updated Plex, you’ve downloaded the Hulu plugin, and your life is great right? Well I’m about to make it even better.

Close Plex and open Safari. Go to http://www.hulu.com and log in or register for a new account. Once you’re logged in, go to your profile and choose Privacy and Settings.

Now scroll down and look on the left hand side for Video Settings. Select YES, that you want to automatically receive the  480p streams.

Voila! Now when your Hulu streams in Plex will have an instant quality upgrade!

    How does this setting in a safari browser affect plex. Hulu inside plex never asked my username and password. I am confused.

    You should log in first to hulu. If you don’t have a login, then you should register with hulu. THen you’ll be able to set the setting.

    Yes, I understand that.. I did that. But where in Plex will I give my HULU account information!

    You don’t. Signing into Hulu and setting your preference is all you need to do. Plex uses a webview to render Hulu. Because of that, it gets all your Hulu preferences for free. You just have to be logged in or it won’t work.
